Christ is Risen!
The past few weeks have been rather quiet as I’ve found myself withdrawing from the internet world due to an increase of activity in the physical world. I’ve been scarce on Twitter, Facebook, Blog reading and of course posting since Pascha. Not due to the lack of things to share, but instead due to a strong desire to immerse myself in the present moment and not concern myself with documenting it. Though I do a poor job of documenting life as is, It seemed appropriate to cherish these last few weeks uninterrupted.
This season of my life is coming to an end. God has blessed us with this wonderful gift of conceiving this child and being able to carry him/her for the last 9 months. Now at 37 weeks along, we are of course eagerly awaiting the arrive of this child but also feeling the weight of the task we’ve been given.
“If one sees a wild tree in a garden, no one thinks of judging the tree itself. Everyone, however, censures the gardener who let it grow as it wishes, thus letting it become wild. In the same way, parents are responsible for the weeds in their children’s hearts.
Think of this responsibility, therefore, and do not impede your children’s road to God by your indifference. You have the responsibility to lead them to the Savior Who calls them to Him, and, addressing you, says: “Let the little Children come to Me, and forbid them not, for of such is the Kingdom of God” (Mark 10:14)” – Bishop Irenaeus
What a task! Not one to be taken lightly. We have tried to prepare as much as possible during the time and circumstances given. Regardless of our efforts, we will need all the help we can get. May the Most Holy Theotokos and all the saints grant Mercy on us in this endeavor.
